Big Data & Business Analytics

Big Data and data analytics are the lifeblood of any successful business. Getting the technology right can be challenging but building the right knowledge and the right skills to undertake big data initiatives can be even harder.

The course Big Data and Data Analytics aims to equip the students with the needed capabilities to understand how big data and business analytics can help companies to boost their performance and operations. The course will also enable the students to solve business problems by using business analytics advanced techniques.

The first part of the course consists of a series of videos (e-learning) and a case study that aims to demonstrate how data if properly leveraged can give organizations of all types a competitive advantage. The second part of the course comprises “hands-on” classes, where students manipulate specific business analytics methods using diagnostics analytics and predictive analytics. The students will learn how to extract useful information from data and increase the business value of a business by using analytics. They will build and assess different types of decision models aimed at evaluating options, quantifying opportunities, optimizing decisions and maximizing performance. The third part, after learning how to use Tableau, students will compete by team using the Harvard business game.
